Elisa Kuschnir is interested in handicraft as a medium to explore and research the ideas of process and chance. Inspired by the gestures, materials and techniques themselves, she investigates the negotiation between materiality and form, control and chance, mind and body through experimenting with textile structures and processes.
Elisa studied advance textile handcraft at the Friends of Handicraft School in Stockholm and holds a master's degree in design from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2015).
Since 2010, she integrates the team at Atelienave, the studio of Brazilian artist Ernesto Neto, where she collaborates with the design, production and installation of his large-scale artworks in national and international institutions.
